Amaco Rainforest Celadon is glaze #19 of my commercial glaze tests. I've only used white clays to test this glaze, as most transparent glazes don't show any color on buff, red, or dark brown clays. It's a good example of how a glaze will look different even when compared to other white clays, though the color shift is less dramatic than with darker clays vs white clays. Rainforest is a beautiful shade of dark green, doesn't run and shows few defects (a bit of delayed crazing on the 181 stoneware, likely because 181 is a cone 8-10 clay so most transparent glazes craze on it at cone 5-6). I used the 181 early on but switched once I learned more about glaze defects like crazing, and using the right clay bodies to avoid those defects. Amaco's Celadon line is very popular, not only do they look great but are user friendly (hard to mess up / apply too few or too many coats). Fired to Cone 5 1/2 on Kentucky Mudworks and Standard (181 stoneware) clays.
